Overview

The clean feeling most people associate with washing is actually damage. That squeaky, tight sensation is your acid mantle stripped and your skin briefly swollen. Soft Reset is built to be the opposite experience: a cushioned, low-foam cream that lifts dirt and excess oil while leaving your barrier intact.

The lather is deliberately modest. Surfactant foam is largely cosmetic — it feels satisfying and does almost no cleaning work by itself — so we use a mild amino-acid surfactant system that produces a soft, low, creamy foam at a skin-identical pH of 5.5. No sulfates, no soap, nothing that pulls your skin back to a raw, alkaline state.

Who It's For

Dry, dehydrated, sensitive, compromised and post-treatment skin, plus anyone whose skin feels tight after washing. It is the cleanser we recommend after retinoids, acids and professional treatments, when your barrier is doing repair work and cannot afford a harsh wash. Oily skin can use it too — gentle does not mean ineffective, and a cleanser that does not strip often reduces rebound oiliness over a few weeks.

The Formula

Two percent glycerin is a humectant that stays working through the rinse, drawing water into the upper layers while you wash. Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) supports barrier recovery and visibly reduces the flushed look that follows cleansing. A small amount of allantoin smooths and softens. The amino-acid surfactant base — sodium cocoyl glutamate and coco-glucoside — is among the mildest effective cleansing systems available, and we buffer it carefully to stay at 5.5.

How To Use

Wet your face with lukewarm water. Dispense a small almond-sized amount, work it between your palms into a light cream, and massage over the face for 30–45 seconds using fingertips only — no washcloth, no scrub device, no sonic brush. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel, leaving the skin slightly damp before your next step.

Use morning and night. If you wear SPF or makeup, use Reset Jelly first in the evening and follow with this for a comfortable double cleanse, or use this alone on bare-skin mornings.
