Overview

Oily skin still needs moisturiser. Skipping it is one of the most common reasons oily skin gets oilier — dehydrated skin compensates by producing more sebum, and the cycle tightens. Featherlight exists so that oily and combination skin has a moisturiser it will actually finish.

The texture is a translucent gel-cream: it looks like a gel in the jar and spreads like water, absorbing in well under a minute with a soft, matte-natural finish. No tacky residue, no shine, no pilling under sunscreen or makeup. It is the moisturiser we recommend for anyone living somewhere hot or humid, and for anyone whose skin hates everything creamy.

The Formula

A five-weight hyaluronic acid complex — from high molecular weight that sits on the surface to low molecular weight that reaches further into the upper layers — so hydration happens at more than one depth instead of only on top. 3% panthenol calms and repairs while it hydrates. 2% beta-glucan from oats reduces the look of redness and holds more water than hyaluronic acid by weight. A small amount of squalane provides just enough emollience to stop the water evaporating, in a concentration low enough that it will not feel heavy or contribute to congestion.

The gel structure is built with a light polymer rather than with heavy waxes, which is why it disappears instead of coating.

How To Use

Apply a hazelnut-sized amount to damp skin morning and night. Damp is important — the humectants in this formula need water to bind, and on bone-dry skin they will pull from deeper layers instead. Follow with SPF in the morning. In very dry winter conditions, layer a thin film of Bouncy Barrier over the top at night.
