Invisible Day — Barely There Mineral SPF 40

Overview

The best sunscreen is the one you wear every day, and almost everything that makes people quit sunscreen comes from the formula: the white cast, the sting near the eyes, the heavy grease, the pilling under makeup. Invisible Day was formulated to remove all four.

It is a 100% mineral filter — non-nano zinc oxide — which is the filter of choice for reactive, post-procedure, rosacea-prone and pregnancy-safe routines, and the one that does not sting when you sweat near your eyes. Mineral filters work by sitting on the surface and reflecting and scattering UV, which is also why they are effective immediately on application rather than after a twenty-minute wait.

No White Cast

The white cast problem comes from large, poorly dispersed zinc particles. We use a finely milled, coated non-nano zinc dispersion at a particle size tuned to stay transparent on light through medium-deep skin tones, in a tinted base with a very small amount of iron oxide to counter the residual bluish-grey. On deep skin tones there may still be a slight veil if applied heavily — apply in two thin layers, thirty seconds apart, and it disappears. We would rather say that plainly than claim it is invisible on everyone.

The Wear Experience

The texture is a light fluid cream that spreads like a moisturiser and dries to a natural, soft finish within two minutes — not matte, not shiny, no tacky film. It layers cleanly over serums and under makeup without pilling, and it does not sting the eyes. Broad spectrum SPF 40 with critical-wavelength UVA protection, and 40 minutes of water resistance.

Reef-Conscious and Clean

No oxybenzone, no octinoxate, no avobenzone, no chemical filters at all. No fragrance, no essential oils, no drying alcohol. Non-nano zinc means the particles are too large to be ingested by coral.

How To Use

Apply generously — about two finger-lengths for the face and neck, or a quarter teaspoon — as the last step of your morning routine, fifteen minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours of direct exposure, and after swimming, sweating or towel-drying. Sunscreen is the single most effective anti-ageing product you can buy, and it only works if the amount is right: most people apply a third of what they need.
